Your dedication, your HIP!
Wha’? You want me to participate?
We believe in sharing knowledge and learning from each other.
Through the lively exchange within our own ranks, we can learn, get to know people, and thereby pave the way towards an open, informed society. We’d like guests to become participants, and you can become one by actively helping to shape the HIP and turning it into your event.
Whether you’d like to talk about Git, lead a workshop on ironing beads or knitting machines, or start a karaoke session: Feel free! We’re happy to share our space with you to foster open knowledge.
In order to make the most out of your contribution and reach as many HIPsters—i.e., our participants/guests—, make sure to design it in a way that is both interesting and possibly entertaining, but can also be understood by your audience. The ideal presentation is held such that you yourself would enjoy it.
If your audience should be prepared for or meet certain requirements for participation, please indicate them so that everyone knows whether they should have a laptop, lock-picking set, copy of the constitution, pen and paper, ... ready. An indication of expected prior knowledge cannot hurt either.
Please make sure you input the language of your talk or workshop.
Chose your way of contributing to the event
Workshops
You want to conduct a workshop? Enter your idea here! If you require certain tools or utensils (e.g. soldering stations or plotters), include them in your proposal.
You’d help us a lot in our scheduling if you could roughly estimate the duration of your project.
Talks
We will gladly give you the opportunity to share your knowledge. Enter the topic you would like to talk about, and a rough estimate of the duration of your talk so that we can schedule the submissions as efficiently as possible.
Suggestions – Workshops/Talks
You have been interested in a certain topic or tool for a while now, but have never had the chance to visit a lecture about it? Or have you always wanted to do or learn something? Go crazy and enter your request here!
Maybe you already know a fellow HIPster that would be the perfect candidate to talk about your topic of interest? Please let us know!
The HIP organisation team will try to implement the suggestions.
Addendum
The Hack im Pott (HIP) is an event made possible by Chaospott and, as last year, we’ll offer several platforms for your content. To a certain extent, we can provide you with equipment for your contribution to the event, but please specify this in the submission form so that we can allocate you to an appropriate room and/or prepare something there. No recordings of either workshops or talks are planned so far; if you explicitly desire one for some reason, please let us know in advance and we will see what can be arranged.
We are looking forward to you and your ideas!
